Wolves vs Nottm Forest: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 9th December 2023
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Inconsistency has been the problem for Wolves with just two wins from their past five games however there was a joy to be had in midweek as they managed to win their fifteenth game of the season with victory over Burnley in a narrow 1-0 win. Wolves are looking stable at least and have 18 points so far and are in 13th place. With teams so tightly bunched together there is a chance that the club could end this weekend jumping three positions with victory here.

At home they have won 3, lost 2 and drawn 2, so it’s not a terrible record so far and recent form has been good with no defeats here in their last five games stretching back to mid September. On form Nottingham Forest would be in 19th place and they have lost four games in a row, it felt like a new low in midweek as they were destroyed 5-0 against Fulham and now they face another tricky away game. Form has seen Forest slump into 16th place and just four points above the bottom three and manager Steve Cooper’s job looks on the line, one would believe if they lost this game heavy he could be gone. Forest currently have the 2nd to worst away record with just the one win and six defeats from 8 games played, they have lost their last three away games and have shipped 11 goals in that time.

Team News:

Wolves vs Nottm Forest Prediction:

Nottingham Forest have experienced some tough moments since returning to the Premier League. They remain a side who could still go down but they have managed to pull some results out of the bag and just enough to be able to ensure their safety, the worry for them is can Steve Cooper keep producing those goods or has his time run out? There is talk that this could be his last game and the owners of the club are going to start to panic given the club's form and how quickly they have slid down the table. Travelling away to Wolves is a tough game for any side, even Manchester City and we think more misery will await Forest. Their recent history over Wolves is poor to at the best average and Wolves while not being in strong form themselves have made their home a very difficult place to come too. So for us this is a home win and the worry is that Wolves could repeat or come close to what Fulham did to Forest a few days ago, we don’t see much hope for Forest this weekend.
