Man Utd vs Bournemouth: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 9th December 2023
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Old Trafford

Match Preview:

Manchester United won the battle of the underwhelming teams in midweek as they came out 2-1 winners over Chelsea and that kept up a superb record over the Blues at home. United will be more than happy to remain at home and will be odds on favourites to win again. It’s got to be about consistency for the Red Devils now and it has been there from them over the past month and they come into this fixture having won 4 of their last 5 games.

Erik ten Hag’s side are in 6th place and have 27 points and the objective will be a top four finish which they are currently three points shy of. Overall the club has won five of their 8 home games so far but have also lost three here but it looks like United are turning a corner for the good and have won three of the last four home games. Bournemouth are in 15th place but the good news is that their form has vastly improved and they have gone unbeaten in their last four games. This has included beating Newcastle and drawing with Aston Villa, so certainly the Cherries are capable of upsets. With 16 points they are seven clear of the bottom three and for now look like they will be safe but this is an important month for them and they could easily hit a wall with the run of fixtures they have. Away from home it’s four defeats but they have won their last two in a row which have come against Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

Man Utd vs Bournemouth Prediction:

It was very important for Manchester United to beat Chelsea of course but it was also important to see a good performance for them after how poor they were in their previous game against Newcastle. United will push on from this or at least we believe that to be the case and they can not only win this game but score quite a few goals too. The talent is strong, and the confidence is clearly building and getting better at home and we don’t give Bournemouth much of a chance. Now if this game was taking place six weeks ago we would have, but United look for now at least to have turned a corner and while there isn’t much value in them winning there are other markets worth focusing on. Granted United are not flowing with goals but they have scored a fair few over Bournemouth in previous seasons and have hit form, they have the players to score a lot of goals at the weekend too.
