Fulham vs Man Utd: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 13th November 2022
Kick off at 4:30pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham have had a good start to the season and come into this game in 9th place. Although they have gone their last two games without a win no one would begrudge them a 0-0 draw against Everton followed up by a close 2-1 defeat at Manchester City. In truth Fulham played well at the Etihad and they have become a difficult side to beat.

The Cottagers have won 8 points from their last 15 as they try to maintain a presence in the top half of the league. A win here would take them to within a point of their visitors and at home they have only lost once so far which came against Newcastle. The clubs last home game finished in a draw with Everton and just before that they were able to dispatch Aston Villa 3-0.

Manchester United have had to play Aston Villa twice in under a week, first up was a league defeat at Villa which ended 3-1. However at home United played them in the EFL Cup and ran out 4-2 winners. Form for United has been a mixed bag and they have lost their consistency, although it is just one loss from their last five they have also drawn a few games and that has just taken the wind out of them. Still United are in 5th place with 23 points coming into this weekend and a top 4 finish is still well on. Ten points from their 23 have come away from home however they lost their last away game against Aston Villa and have won just once from their last four trips. United would rank in 9th place on away games only and have won 3, lost 3 and drawn once.

Fulham vs Man Utd Prediction:

Fulham do not have a good record against Manchester United but that could be set to change at the weekend. In truth the Cottagers have become a very tricky side to play against and have only shown weaknesses in rare occasions this season. The plan for the club is to be strong at home and take out Newcastle being able to score 4 past them and they have been. Losing quality like Mitrovic is a blow to the club but they have proven that they have a plan b without him too. Fulham are not to be taken lightly at home and they are a club who pound for pound have impressed so far this season and they also notably raise their game against the better quality sides.

This is no easy game for Manchester United and one has to wonder if United’s problems aren’t still apparent? At home manager Erik ten Hag has eliminated many problems, to his credit because taking the United job is not as easy as it once was. The players can look great one week and have confidence problems the next. United will get their chances in this game but the value seems to be with the home side. United do not look solid enough on the road, and may need some lady luck to come away with the points here. For a home side Fulham are a great price to win, and could be worth the risk.
