England Premier League
Sunday 3rd March 2024
Kick off at 1pm GMT
Venue: Turf Moor
Match Preview:
Burnley has a chance to close the gap on Luton in 18th place and wins are needed, that is the simple terms laid out for Vincent Kompany’s side with the games and weeks going past at an alarming rate without wins. The Clarets have struggled all season but recent form does not shine a good light and they have won just one point from their last five games and have lost their last three in a row coming into this one.
Burnley are 11 points from safety and they do look down but no one associated with the club can believe that, and at the end of the day 36 points are still left on the board. Wins need to come and the only realistic way of this will be at home however the club has the worst home form in the league with only 5 points won from 39, Kompany’s side have managed just one win at home which is damning.
Life for Bournemouth is rosy compared to their hosts and the Cherries are in 13th place and are 15 points ahead of Burnley. Recent form has been a problem and their good form has dissipated with three draws in their last five games and no wins. The club lost their last game although that only ended in a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City. They will look at how they recently drew 2-2 away to Newcastle and the club is one that has been tricky to deal with for a whole host of other clubs. On the road it’s just four wins from 13 games and six defeats and it’ a mixed bag of form that has seen 15 points won from 39.
Team News:
Burnley: Josh Brownhill is suspended, Jordan Beyer remains a major doubt with a knock and probably will not be risked for this game. Aaron Ramsey, Lyle Foster and Nathan Redmond have all been ruled out for the season.
Bournemouth: Enes Unal could return from a shoulder injury and will be assessed, James Hill is out for at least another three weeks with an ankle injury. Tyler Adams isn’t expected back until the end of the month due to fitness issues. Maximillian Aarons is out with no fixed return date due to his ongoing hamstring injury. Dominic Solanke could be assessed for a knee injury but remains only 50/50 to return.
Burnley vs Bournemouth Head to Head:
The clubs last played here 3 years ago in the FA Cup in which Bournemouth won 2-0.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Bournemouth won 2-1.
There is a 60% chance to see both teams to score.
Burnley vs Bournemouth Prediction:
It looks as though Dominic Solanke will miss out here for the visitors and that would be a big blow if he does with the goals that he has managed this season. Burnley need to keep fighting but it is hard to see where their next win will come from. They don’t look like a side capable of winning games, they need a mental shift but Bournemouth are a strong solid side who won’t exactly feel like they are safe just yet and will be thinking to get to mid 30 points before being able to ease up.
Burnley may well manage a draw at best here, the full time result on this is usually a risk to take so let’s concentrate on the half time and goals market but we expect to see a slow start to the game, the objective for the home side will be to start with no mistakes and take their time to get into the game.
Burnley vs Bournemouth Betting Tips:
Half Time Result: Draw at 2.25
Under 2.5 goals at 2.10
