The question coming into this game is how does a club who are in the relegation zone come back from a game in which they were 3-0 up at half time only to lose 4-3? There is a lot of psychology in sports and this latest defeat for Luton felt like 3 defeats in one go. As it stands Rob Edwards side are in 18th place with 21 points and are 3 points from safety. What makes this game very intriguing is that Nottingham Forest are currently keeping Luton in the bottom three.
Luton’s recent form has not been encouraging with 4 defeats and one draw from their last five games. But they remain a club with a lot of fight in them, losing some games by one goal margins against much better sides, witness their 3-2 loss against Aston Villa and a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. If Luton go down it won’t be because they were poor, but it may come down by not being focused enough and being too naive in games when it matters.
Nottingham Forest have lost 3 games in a row coming into this one with defeats against Aston Villa, Liverpool and Brighton, not easy games for them it has to be said. The club's last win came a month ago with a win over West Ham, although that was at home. On the road a different picture has been painted with the club winning just 9 points from a possible 42, they would rank in 18th place based on away form alone. The last point they claimed away was against Bournemouth in a match that finished in a 1-1 draw.

Luton: Joseph Johnson has a fever and will be rested but will be back at the end of the month. Albert Sambi-Lokonga could be assessed due to his hamstring but remains a doubt to be back for this game. Tim Lockyer, Marvelous Nakamba, Daniel Potts, Gabriel Osho, Jacob Brown, Amarii Bell and Mads Andersen are all out long term with no fixed return dates
Nottingham Forest: Ola Aina could return from a lack of match fitness, Giovani Reyna will be assessed for a knock, Nuno Tavares and Gonzalo Montiel are expected to miss out with respective muscle and hamstring injuries

Nottingham Forest has the chance if results go their way to climb past Everton and Brentford and move into 15th place. There is a lot of motivation for them to turn up here with some of their rivals not playing this weekend and win. Of course the same applies for Luton who could dump Forest into the bottom three with a win based on goal difference. So what is going to give?
Luton need to pick themselves back up because Forest will be dangerous, they have struggled recently but had to play quality sides and manager Santo will smell blood here and feel that this will be a great opportunity to have some breathing space between the bottom three, after all if Forest manage to win this game they would go six points clear of the bottom three. Watch out for Forest’s Chris Wood who is a superb price to get on the score sheet, he was able to bag a brace against Luton earlier in the season.
