Match Preview:
Bournemouth have had their ups and downs this season but their form has taken a battering lately and they have lost their last 4 games in a row. Defeats have come against Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Brentford and they have dropped to 17th place and are just a point from dropping into the bottom three. A relegation battle is a very real prospect for the Cherries and they will have to make playing them at home a tough ordeal for whoever comes here.
Home form could save a club like Bournemouth but they have plenty of worries to contend with given at home they have lost 3 of their last four games. Overall they have won 11 points from 27 and scored just 9 goals.
You have to give Steve Cooper credit, after inheriting a huge squad he has had to get to grips with the players and understand them in no time and coupled with their poor start to the season it is incredible that they come into this game in 13th place. That’s the good news but Forest are not out of a relegation battle as just 5 points separates them from the bottom three. But it is clear that Forest have improved and their form is much better with just one defeat in their last five and last weekend they won their fifth game of the season beating Leicester 2-0.
Away from home though the club have suffered and would rank in 19th place as they have won just 5 points and incredibly scored just 2 goals so far on the road. The good news is that one of those goals came in their last away game as they won their first game on the road beating Southampton.
Team News:
Bournemouth: David Brooks is missing with his hamstring and not due back for another two weeks at least. Lewis Cook has a knee injury and is not due back until next month. Ryan Fredericks will be assessed for a knock but is only 50/50 to return. Dominic Solanke has a knee injury, the media are reporting it is fairly serious, his manager isn’t, but he will miss out here. Junior Stanilas is 50/50 for this game after a knock, Marcus Tavernier is out with his hamstring for two weeks.
Nottingham Forest: Taiwo Awoniyi is a major doubt with his groin injury as is Willy Boly with his ankle and both do not look set to play. Dean Henderson is out for between 3-4 weeks due to a thigh injury. Jesse Lingard is still two weeks away from a return with his hamstring. Moussa Niakhate has a muscle injury and is ruled out as is Chiekhou Kouyate who has a hamstring injury which is worse than once though and he could be out until March. Omar Richards is also missing with a leg injury and won’t return for at least two weeks.

Bournemouth’s home form is poor and Nottingham Forest’s away form is poor so what kind of game can we expect? It should be a close one and it is very hard to call out a winner here, like a few games this weekend this one has a draw written all over it. We will back for the correct draw score at half time but are also tempted to back Forest to get the three points but with the draw covered on the refund.
Forest’s form in all departments even on the road has been improving and while both clubs have a lot of injuries at this time it looks to be in Forest’s favour with their huge squad of players they can rely on. This can have problems of its own with players not being used of playing with one another but Bournemouth are suffering at the moment and Forest could well take advantage of that.
