Wolves vs Norwich: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 15th May 2022
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Molineux Stadium

Match Preview:

Wolves are five points from a European position and they are chasing West Ham. With two games left to play it looks lost but Wolves must play Norwich at the weekend and West Ham are playing the best club in the league Manchester City. So if form works out with one game to go Wolves may only be three points behind.

Wolves form has been dreadfully poor and they have found this right at the wrong time, as they looked good to play in Europe next season now it is really in the balance and the club have picked up just one point from the last 15 on offer. Wolves lost their last home game here but it was against Manchester City but it wasn’t in a great manner as they lost 5-1. Home form overall has seen 9 defeats which simply isn’t good enough and they have had to endure 3 defeats from their past four home games.

Norwich have lost 25 games this season and have been long down. They lost their last game 3-0 against Leicester. They trail 19th placed Watford by two points and look set to finish bottom of the league. The Canaries have won just four points from their last ten games and away from home it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Dean Smith’s side have the worst record in the league. It’s been 13 defeats this season on the road with just 10 goals scored and they are averaging 2 goals shipped per game.

Team News:

Wolves: Daniel Podence has a lack of match fitness and looks a major doubt to return for this one. Romain Saiss has a knock and will be lucky to come back before the end of the season. Nelson Semedo is out long term with a hamstring injury as is Max Kilman with his ankle.

Norwich: There are no new injuries for the Canaries coming into this game but they have a growing list of long term absentees including Kenny McLean, Ozan Kabak, Adam Idah, Joshua Sargent, Christoph Zimmermann and Andrew Omobamidele.

Wolves vs Norwich Head to Head:

The clubs last played here only a few months ago in the FA Cup with Norwich winning 1-0, that was Norwich’s first win since 2017.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture the game finished 0-0.

There has only been one game that finished 0-0 in the past 24.

Wolves vs Norwich Prediction:

This is a huge game for Wolves and with all due respect to Norwich it would be a very poor occasion if Bruno Lage’s side were not able to win this game. They are at home against the poorest side in the league and they need the win to keep their slim chances of qualifying for Europe next season open. If they cannot muster up the motivation to play well and win this game that really will not bode well even for next season and it could be a summer of change at the club. Of course we shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves but Wolves by far has a better team, they just come into this game in poor form and need to find their mojo again, not all is lost, just yet.

As for Norwich they should be outclassed here and if Wolves can score early then we could well see a few goals and that could be a good market to back. Raul Jimenez as lethal as he can will fancy his chances to score against Norwich at home and we will back him.

Wolves vs Norwich Betting Tips:

Asian handicap (-1 Wolves) at 1.70

Over 2.5 goals at 1.80

Raul Jimenez to score at 1.80
