Match Preview:
It’s 12th v 13th and while it would be tempting to say that West Ham are the favourites at home their form has been poor. The Hammers have lost 3 games in a row against Aston Villa, Everton and Brentford. In midweek there was some joy though as the club got back to winning ways in the Europa League with a 1-0 win over Greek side Olympiacos. Back to the league and poor form has seen the Hammers slip to 12th place with 14 points. At home it's two wins but also two losses and they have picked up 7 points from a possible 15.
Nottingham Forest have lost just once in their past five games although three of those results have been draws. Last weekend the club picked up their 3rd win of the season and it was an impressive one as they beat Aston Villa 2-0 at home. Forest are in 14th place and have 13 points and are already looking very good for survival this season and are well on course to improve on last season. Home form has been strong and the club would be in 8th place on home form alone. They have won 9 points from a possible 15 and are still unbeaten, the problem is away, form tells a very different story. It’s just one win for the club so far and 4 points from 18. Their last win came back at the beginning of September although it was in London when they beat Chelsea.
Team News:
West Ham: The Hammers only have one injury concern which is defender Kurt Zouma who has recovered from a knee injury but remains just 50/50 to be ready for this game and may not be risked.
Nottingham Forest: Felipe, Divock Origi and Gonzalo Montiel are all 50/50 to be back for this game and will be assessed. Callum Hudson-Odoi remains out for at least the next three weeks with a hamstring injury. Chris Wood won’t return until after the international break due to his hamstring injury and Harry Toffolo has a knock but is being tipped to be fine for this match.

David Moyes' side have really fallen since the beginning of the season but as we have seen time and again once Moyes looks out for the count he is able to string some results together. It was a huge bonus that the club were able to win in Europe in midweek and that should put them in good stead for this game. At the same time it was a hard physical encounter and the Hammers had to dig deep for the win while Forest were able to have a week off and prepare for this game.
West Ham have a quality squad with minimal injuries but you get the sense that they are not out of the woods yet. The double chance on Forest to get something from this game seems like the tempting choice here as they would have had the rest and also will be on a high from last weekend’s excellent result. This could well be another frustrating weekend for Moyes and the Hammers.
