Watford vs Man Utd: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 20th November 2021
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Vicarage Road

Match Preview:

Watford are amongst the favourites to be relegated and even bringing in Claudio Ranieri may not do the trick for the Hornets. Since Ranieri took charge it has been 3 defeats from their last four and the club come into this weekend just 2 points above the bottom three and in 17th place.

Watford will be the big underdogs to get anything from this game and one will be reminded that they lost 5-0 at home against Liverpool a few weeks ago. Southampton and Arsenal have also beaten them, although the club only lost 1-0 away to the Gunners.

As for home form we would have to go back to the beginning of the season for Watford’s one win in front of their home fans as they beat Aston Villa 3-2. With 11 goals conceded at home that is averaging 2 goals shipped per home game.

Manchester United have just 1 win from their last five games and whilst they seem to find the results to keep manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in a job there is no denying that the clubs form has been poor. While some other teams would not have welcomed the international break Solskjaer probably would have been delighted. Just beforehand United lost the Manchester derby 2-0 at home and were utterly outclassed. A few weeks before that they were throttled 5-0 again at home against Liverpool.

Usually these type of results would spell the end but United did beat Tottenham 3-0 away from home in between those results, but they can’t afford to drop points here and will be the odds on favourites to make light work of their hosts.

Currently the Red Devils have a better away record than home and have won 3 of their last five games so far. Including winning 3 of their last four on the road, their only blip being the 4-2 loss at Leicester.

Team News:

Watford: Kwadwo Baah has an ankle injury and is expected to miss a few weeks. Juraj Kucka is suspended for his sending off before the break. Peter Etebo is out long term with his thigh injury. Ken Sema is out with a knee injury.

Manchester United: Edinson Cavani will be assessed after his recent tendon injury and has a chance to return for this game. Luke Shaw will be assessed after his recent concussion. Paul Pogba won’t return until the end of the month as he is suspended following his sending off earlier in the month. Scott McTominay is touch and go as he is ill. Raphael Varane is about 3 weeks away from a return with his hamstring injury.

Watford vs Man Utd Prediction:

Manchester United are around 1.50 to win this game and history is leaning on an away win. United should have few problems and one would expect that the team will create many chances and be firing on many cylinders. Still this is United who have also put in some average performances and perhaps the 1.50 is not the greatest price. It might be worth then concentrating on other markets.

We can’t talk about this present United side without mentioning Cristiano Ronaldo and even though he had a busy period playing international football over the past week we think he can score in this game. This is opposition which Ronaldo will feel he will get many chances against.

United should be able to ease to victory and we do not expect anything other than an away win at the weekend as the misery is set to continue for the home side.

Watford vs Man Utd Betting Tips:
