Match Preview:
It’s been a decent start from Nottingham Forest but there will be some concerns given that they have won just 1 game from their past four. Their last game would have been an expected loss away to Manchester City though. Steve Cooper’s side have also lost to Manchester United 3-2 after leading 2-0 and have drawn 1-1 at home to Burnley.
This recent form has put Forest in 12th place and they have 7 points, in fairness it’s not a terrible position to be in at this stage of the season for a club only enjoying their second season in the top flight in the last 24 years. Goals have been lacking though with seven scored so far but the team will be happy to be returning back home.
Brentford have almost had the same start to the season as their hosts but come into this game with a point less than them on six. We would have to go back to mid August for Brentford’s last win and it’s been four games now with no victories. While two of those games did end in draws they have lost their last two games in a row with defeats against Newcastle and Everton. There was disappointment in midweek for the Bees as they were knocked out of the EFL Cup 1-0 by Arsenal, but you get the sense that Thomas Frank’s side had one eye on this game.
Team News:
Nottingham Forest: Danilo is missing for at least 3 weeks with a hamstring injury. Nuno Tavares has only a 50/50 chance to make this game because of his groin.
Brentford: Shandon Baptiste, Mikkel Damsgaard, Joshua Dasilva and Ben Mee are all missing. Kevin Schade is out with a muscle injury. Henry Rico is out for the season with a knee injury and Ivan Toney isn’t back until January through suspension.

We expect to see a close game but one market we will focus on is both teams to score and this has a very good recent return. Nottingham Forest will be looking to get back to winning ways and we think being at home in this one could be the perfect tonic for the club. What has been noticeable compared to last season is Forest’s injury list which read like a novel last season but they only have two major key players out for the first team coming into this weekend.
Brentford like Forest have already blown hot and cold but they are dropping too many points already in the season and this will be a tough away game for them. Forest have goalscorers in their side and the market is very open with good value so it is worth getting on that market too. Taiwo Awoniyi has already scored a few goals this season for Forest and has looked dangerous in the early part of the season so back him to score at the weekend too.
