England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Old Trafford
Match Preview:
For Manchester United the reference will always be the Sir Alex Ferguson years where the team kept winning games but also even when they did not they put in performances and this is why current manager Erik ten Hag is feeling the pressure despite an upturn in form. In the Premier League after a slow start United have won 3 of their last four games but are still not putting in the performances and winning games the way United used to do. It means that even in victory they are looking like a fragile side who play on the edge where a win could easily turn on its head within ten minutes and turn into a loss. That was underlined in midweek when United lost against Copenhagen in the Champions League group stage match, a match they were winning 2-0 but lost 4-3. This United side gives too many chances to any side, it only used to be to their nearest rivals and problems remain at the club despite better domestic form.
United come into this weekend in 8th place and are 9 points behind the leaders and six behind a top four finish. In their last game they beat Fulham 1-0 away from home and in their last home game they lost 3-0 to Manchester City. Indeed they have lost their last two home games by the same score as they also lost against Newcastle in the EFL Cup. United could climb to sixth place with a win depending on how other results pan out.
Luton will be seen as the underdogs of course and they are 12 points behind their hosts and in 17th place. In a sense recent form has improved for the Hatters despite not winning as they have drawn two of their last three games and one of them which happened last weekend was a memorable one as they held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw. In fact the players would have been disappointed in the dressing room after the game given that they were heading for a 1-0 victory until a last ditch Luis Diaz equaliser. But it does show encouraging signs for Luton and they will hope to build on that, although the fixtures haven’t fallen kindly for them having to now play Manchester United away from home.

Man Utd vs Luton Prediction:
You can get a Manchester United win at 1.30 which tells you a lot about where the bookmakers think United are at. Granted the price is still short but in normal circumstances we could have been looking at 1.20 or even 1.10 given they are at home. A lot is on the line for Ten Hag because there is silent pressure growing and if United, who have not put in a convincing home performance in this campaign drop points against Luton then alarm bells will start ringing.
We do expect a home victory but we also expect Luton to give their all and confidence has been growing at the club over the past few weeks. This is why both teams to score should be looked into at a decent price. United can score goals at home and we can’t go looking into past h2h’s given the time that has elapsed but we do expect to see an entertaining game with goals in it and the visitors can certainly play their part.
Man Utd vs Luton Betting Tips:
Over 3.5 goals at 2.25
Anytime goalscorer: Bruno Fernandes at 2.75
Anytime goalscorer: Rasmus Hojlund at 2.10
Both teams to score at 1.80
