Match Preview:
The two most successful sides in English football will attempt to play this fixture for the 2nd time after the first one had to be postponed earlier in the month. For that game Manchester United fans protested about the clubs owners and even ran on the pitch.
So what of this match? Manchester United will know that they have Champions League football secured for another season. They will also have one eye on the Europa League final. But playing Liverpool still means everything and the Red Devils will be looking to get one over their old rivals.
It has been a tough week for United though and this is their 2nd game in the space of two days following their match against Leicester. The advantage they have at least is that they have been able to stay at home for both games.
Liverpool need to win this game, forget rivalries, this is simply a must win match. The Reds as champions have the real chance of not even qualifying for the Champions League, a club who reached the final in 2018 and won the competition in 2019. The fall would be huge. Still, win this and perhaps there is a path to qualification but they would still need Leicester or Chelsea to lose games.
Liverpool won their last match beating Southampton 2-0 in an expected result but then again a home win is a thing of rarity for the club in 2021. Form is good though and perhaps Jurgen Klopp’s team have turned a corner. From their last 10 games the club have earned 17 points, it’s not vintage Liverpool but it is getting there. Overall away form is decent enough with just 3 defeats so far and the club are undefeated on the road for their past 4 games, with their last match ending in a draw against Leeds.

Manchester United: Anthony Martial and Phil Jones are long term absentees, and Daniel James will also miss out due to injury.
Liverpool: Liverpool have no new injuries but a significant list of long term injuries for Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Divock Origi and Jordan Henderson.

Manchester United would love to deny Liverpool a chance to qualify for next seasons Champions League and we think we will see the last game this season in the league where United will give it their all.
Equally Liverpool will be on the ball and forget disappointments that have plagued the team this season they will do everything in their power to win this one.
This could be a game where both sides simply cancel out each other and backing the lack of goals could be a good move here. It will certainly be a fascinating match but United if they are able to play a strong side have to be the favourites.
