Man Utd vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Tuesday 11th May 2021
Kick off at 6pm BST
Venue: Old Trafford

Match Preview:

The big question surrounding this game is will Solskjaer play the kids? The Manchester United manager has hinted at it because just 2 days later United will have to play Liverpool, as that original fixture was postponed because of fan protests.

For Manchester United such a decision makes sense, the club will probably finish in 2nd place and also have to protect their best players for the Europa League final. At the same time if the club do play a second string side then you would have to feel for the other teams chasing a top four place who are hoping that Leicester slip up. At the time of writing it isn’t clear what side United will play, but it would be a good bet that their strongest side is going to be reserved for the Liverpool game, but we should still expect a few United regulars in this team.

Manchester City’s title celebrations had to be put on hold because quite frankly they blew their chance at the weekend. In theory United can still win the league, but their chances are incredibly slim, but it is still a possibility. Though if they lose this game then City would be crowned champions on Tuesday evening. United have been in good form and just look super confident and at the weekend they beat Aston Villa 3-1 away from home and they are very close now to finishing the season with the unique record of staying unbeaten on the road.

Leicester are nervous now and that was underlined at the weekend when they conceded 4 goals as Newcastle who have struggled for much of the season beat the Foxes at King Power Stadium 4-2. It’s interesting to note that Leicester are a top 4 side but on based on current form over the past month they would be 11th. For the clubs last victory which was over Crystal Palace we would have to go back to end the April and one has to wonder if the Foxes are going to implode for a top 4 spot for the second season in a row?

Team News:

Manchester United: Daniel James is 50/50 for this game after his recent knock.

Leicester: No new injuries for the club although Harvey Barnes is out for the season and Wes Morgan won’t return for another 10 days at least with his back problem.

Man Utd vs Leicester Head to Head:

Last season Manchester United won this fixture 1-0.

In March of this year the clubs played in the FA Cup and Leicester won 3-1.

Leicester have not beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford since 1998.

There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Man Utd vs Leicester Prediction:

Normally we would be tempted to back the home win and have no problem with that. The worry though is we will not know the United team and they could be missing 6-7 regulars. With that in mind Leicester will fancy their chances here. With a full strength United side playing at home we would expect a home win normally.

United are around 2.50 to win the game and normally we could expect around 1.72, so the bookmakers believe that Ole will chop and change. If he doesn’t it would be wise to keep track of this game and the pricing market and try to grab a good price, but with a lack of information as this goes out you might be wise to stick with different markets.

Man Utd vs Leicester Betting Tips:
