Match Preview:
Manchester City are predicted to win the league this season and Bournemouth are predicted to be relegated and that should tell you everything about the bookies prices coming into this game, literally no one is seeing past a City victory here.
What is so impressive with the champions is how hungry they still look after winning back to back titles. Against West Ham on the opening day of the season the game felt like men against boys as City created 600 more passes in 90 minutes than their opponents on the way to a slick 2-0 victory away from home. Talk before the game was of Erling Haaland and the Norwegian didn’t disappoint as he scored both goals. One was a penalty but his second showed his real qualities, leaving the defence for dead with electric pace and slotting home with utter confidence, he will be heavily tipped to score in this game.
You have to feel for Bournemouth because these types of games can be lost before a first whistle is blown. Any newly promoted team playing away to City are going to feel the jitters but what makes this game even more frightening for them is the mass of City supporters who are turning up to see their team for the first time this season, the expectation will be high and City are sure to deliver. However let’s rewind back to last week when Bournemouth won their first game beating Aston Villa in an impressive 2-0 victory. The Cherries were at home and even though they had to relent possession they got the most important statistic on the board which of course is goals, and this is a dream start for the club make no mistake.
Team News:
Manchester City: The club have no new injuries to their first team and only Aymeric Laporte presently will be missing at the weekend with his on going knee injury. The defender is due back in 3 weeks time.
Bournemouth: Joe Rothwell has been ruled out until September with a thigh injury. David Brooks and Ryan Fredericks remain major doubts with a lack of match fitness.
Man City vs Bournemouth Head to Head:
It’s been two years since the clubs faced each other here in the Premier League and Manchester City won 2-1.

The last three meetings has witnessed both teams to score.
Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City either home or away.
Man City vs Bournemouth Prediction:
Many punters don’t even have to look at the win market, they know City will be unbackable here and so if anyone fancies City to win the best market could well be on the handicap. As for the game the Premier League is good at throwing up surprises but we won’t see that happen on Saturday. Let’s give some credit to Bournemouth though who navigated a tricky team in Aston Villa, and a Villa side of course who have enjoyed being in the Premier League with a plethora of experience and the Cherries were able to score when it mattered to upset Steven Gerrard’s side. But this is a huge step up and City want another title, there is no way that Pep Guardiola’s side can look at this game and wonder if points will be dropped.
Anyone who looked in Haaland’s eyes after the West Ham game could see that we have a player who given a chance would have played this game that evening. He wants to be on a pitch and having to wait six days for another game would have felt like a lifetime, Haaland will be soaking in the atmosphere of playing at the Etihad in his first competitive game in front of the home fans, this should be an occasion and let’s remember that City more or less come here with a full squad, they will be alert and dangerous and City should win and score many goals. This is all set up to a long afternoon for the visitors who will be trying to keep the score down, all three points to the champions coming up.
