Leicester vs Norwich: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 11th May 2022
Kick off at 7:45pm BST
Venue: King Power Stadium

Match Preview:

Leicester were beaten 2-1 by Everton in their last home game just at the weekend and the club looked quite toothless in that game and not as sharp as they could have been. Much of that can come down to the fact that they had to play in Italy just three days beforehand in the Europa Conference League semi-finals and were beaten by Roma. The Everton loss in some ways can be accepted but the fans will be expecting their team to be back on the ball in this game and we think they will be too.

The objective for the Foxes is that they can still finish in the top half of the league this season and unlike some of their direct rivals they still have four games left to play. Recent form has been poor though with back to back defeats coming into this game and only 2 points earned from their last 15. Evidently playing in Europe has affected the club, now that is over and their season also, they can try and focus on finishing well, especially getting good results in their last few home games.

Norwich who are already relegated were beaten 4-0 at home to West Ham at the weekend and there doesn’t seem much else in the club right now who will just want the season to end. It’s true the Canaries can still fight to finish in 19th place and not finish bottom of the league but the teams motivation seems at an all time low now. Dean Smith’s side come into this game having lost their last four and away from home they have overtaken Everton as having the worst record with 9 points earned from a possible 51.

Team News:

Leicester: Eldin Jakupovic is 50/50 to return because of a knock, Ricardo Pereira looks set to miss the rest of the season with a knock.

Norwich: Christoph Zimmermann is missing with a hip injury, Mathias Normann is out with a thigh injury.

Leicester vs Norwich Head to Head:

The last time the teams played this fixture in 2019 the game finished 1-1.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Leicester won 2-1.

Leicester have only lost once in the last six meetings.

3 of the last four meetings has ended in under 1.5 goals.

Leicester vs Norwich Prediction:

For us this is the banker choice of the batch of mid week games. We expect Leicester to try and win this one for their fans and win well and they certainly have the quality to do so. Norwich come here unmotivated and have a huge lack of confidence and it feels like the perfect time to play the poorest side in the Premier League this season. Norwich have shown some good moments during the season of course but the league doesn’t lie and we expect this to be a long 90 minutes for the Canaries.

Leicester when confident can knock the ball around and the Foxes will have the bulk of possession. These have been struggling times for club legend Jamie Vardy with his spate of injuries but he is being tipped to start this game and we think he will get on the score sheet too. As for Leicester’s price, the 1.44 will put a few people off but we can look into different markets, Leicester can win this game and score a few goals to go along with it, and we will make a few other choices in a game that should be one way traffic.

Leicester vs Norwich Betting Tips:
