Leicester vs Man City: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 3rd April 2021
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: King Power Stadium

Match Preview:

It’s 3rd vs 1st but it might as well be 1st vs 10th when we look at the gulf in class between the sides. That might sound unfair because Leicester have played well this season and did stick 5 goals past Manchester City the last time they played each other but City are also 15 points in front of Leicester and have really been the only side to show consistent class in the Premier League this season.

Leicester could go 2nd until at least Sunday if they win and this is a game where Leicester could do well to pick up some points. It’s all about finishing in that top 4 place after last season’s disappointments and the Foxes hold a 7 point gap to 5th. Leicester are 5 points clear of Chelsea but one would presume with the way the Blues are playing that the gap will disappear soon.

As for Leicester, recent form has been good and they come into this game having won back to back games. Their last home match ended in a 5-0 rout of Sheffield United and there is a good feeling at the club.

Manchester City have won their last two games and are scoring goals- they have notched 8 in their last two games. The big news from the club was off the pitch as star striker Sergio Aguero announced that he would be leaving the club after 10 years. Aguero’s final season has been dogged with injuries but he could finish it well now that news is off his back.

City are 14 points clear of 2nd placed Manchester United though United have a game in hand, but one has to wonder what that will change? At this stage of the season and with the way City are playing it should be very little, still everyone will remember what happened to Newcastle and their implosion two decades ago with United chasing….

Team News:

Leicester: Harvey Barnes is out with his knee, Justin James could be out for the season now with his knee injury. Wes Morgan is hoping to make a comeback after his back injury and could feature. Cengiz Under is presumed to be out still with his thigh injury as no update has been given.

Manchester City: There are no injuries for City coming into this match.

Leicester vs Man City Head to Head:

Last season Manchester City won this game 1-0.

Earlier in the season Leicester beat Manchester City 5-2 at the Etihad.

Leicester have at least scored 1 goal past City in 4 from the last six league meetings.

Manchester City have won 3 from the last 4 league meetings against Leicester.

Leicester vs Man City Prediction:

In this moment there is more pressure on Leicester and we don’t believe they will be set up to try and defend, they will attack and know that they unnerved City enough to score 5 goals earlier in the season. Pep Guardiola teams do not sit back and this is why we could see a few goals in this game and we will be basing our choices on this market.

Jamie Vardy has been super quiet and we think he can get back on track for this one.

We expect to see a very open game and it would feel like a surprise if this game was not loaded with goals.

Leicester vs Man City Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 1.95

Anytime goalscorer: Jamie Vardy at 2.75

Over 2.5 goals at 1.90
