Everton vs Brentford: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 15th May 2022
Kick off at 4:30pm BST
Venue: Goodison Park

Match Preview:

Everton will have the advantage of knowing Leeds result as they kick off earlier and it is very possible that Everton could be confirmed as surviving this season if Leeds have lost. It would mean that if Everton even drew this game they would be safe because of the goal difference between the clubs.

Everton of course have been largely poor this season but their form has come good just at the right time and they come into this game unbeaten in their last three. In midweek they drew 0-0 away to Watford which was a slightly disappointing result but with one eye on Leeds losing to Chelsea it meant that it was another point gained. For Everton this season it is all about home form, and that is what may keep them up. Frank Lampard’s side are unbeaten in their last four home games winning 3 of those and last time out here they beat Chelsea 1-0. Indeed Everton haven’t lost at home for two months and will be confident coming into this game.

Brentford have been magnificent this season given they have not been in the top flight for over 70 years. Their form too since Christian Eriksen has come back has been consistent and solid and they have earned 10 points from their last 15 losing just one game. Last weekend they beat Southampton 3-0 and the Bees are certainly a team much like Everton who have a spring in their step and confidence to go with it.

Away form has seen Thomas Frank’s side lose 50% of their games and have only won five this season however three of those have happened in their last five games, so you can see how the club’s overall form has turned around.

Team News:

Everton: Fabian Delph has a muscle issue and looks doubtful to come back by the end of the season. Ben Godfrey will be assessed due to a lack of match fitness. Yerry Mina is very doubtful to return with his calf injury. Donny van de Beek has fitness issues and will be assessed.

Brentford: There are no new injuries for the Bees ahead of this game. Though Zanka, Frank Onyeka, Ethan Pinnock are all missing long term.

Everton vs Brentford Head to Head:

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Brentford won 1-0.

The clubs did meet here in the FA Cup this season, which was Frank Lampard’s first game in charge and Everton won 4-1.

3 of the last four meetings has seen both teams to score.

Everton vs Brentford Prediction:

Everton look confident and assured and they should remember they were able to stick 4 goals past Brentford only a few months ago here. This isn’t an easy game to predict because their mentality may depend on the Leeds result.

Still Everton are an excellent price to win the game and not even odds on and the form they have been showing means that we think the Toffees will win the game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin came on as a sub in the last game and Lampard may look to start him in this game, and we will pick him at good odds to get on the score sheet. A relaxed Brentford side will bring plenty to this game so backing both teams to score should also be a pick on what could either be a pressure tense game for the home side or one where they will be able to relax. All eyes and ears would have been tuning in to the Leeds game before this kick off, and whatever happens there could well influence the whole mood of this game.

Everton vs Brentford Betting Tips:

Everton to beat Brentford at 2.10

Anytime goalscorer: Dominic Calvert-Lewin at 2.50

Both teams to score at 1.80
