Match Preview:
Burnley of course are already relegated but you get the sense that the club will really want to go out on a high and get a final home win. The Clarets who have spent the majority of the season in 19th place could actually finish in 18th and go past Luton with a win here depending if Luton were to lose their game. Finishing in 18th would feel like a small victory in what has been a wake up call for Burnley in how good the Premier League is. Burnley had shown form last month and were challenging to stay up but losing their last two games has ended that dream. Those defeats came against Newcastle and Tottenham and the club shipped six goals in those games. Burnley are going down because of their home form and you can’t come up and then only win 2 games at home for the season, that has been a damning statistic for the club.
Nottingham Forest are not yet quite safe although they are. It is true that in the most bizarre situation Forest could still go down, but they would need to lose and Luton would need to beat Fulham 12-0, so we can all agree that no matter what happens here Forest will stay up. Having said that they could be joined on the same points as Luton and Forest would like to clear the 30 point marker. The clubs form coming into this game has not been good with 3 defeats from their past four and their sole win inbetween came against bottom club Sheffield United. Forest’s last game ended in a 302 defeat at home against Chelsea. Away form has been overall poor with just three wins and 11 defeats although they did win their last one that was the game against the Blades though.
Team News:
Burnley: There are no new injuries but Ameen Al Dakhil, Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey and Nathan Redmond all remain out.
Nottingham Forest: Nicolas Domineguez has a hernia and is ruled out and Neco Williams is out with an muscle injury.

Burnley have remained undefeated in the last 8 meetings.

With both teams safe this match will feel like a friendly one suspects but at the same time Burnley manager Vincent Kompany will be aware that the club has had a very decent record over Forest in the past decade and would love to keep that up. We are going to back Burnley on the double chance for this game. They have actually played some good football in this campaign but have been undone by so many late goals and losing focus. Forest will know that they are safe even though it isn’t confirmed because the goal difference to Luton is not going to be caught up in one game, it would have taken 5 games at the very least in all honesty. Kompany is a proud manager who has tried really hard this season and he will have motivated his players to give it one final performance and for the fans to go home happy as they prepare again for Championship football.
