Burnley vs Leeds: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 15th May 2021
Kick off at 12:30pm BST
Venue: Turf Moor

Match Preview:

Burnley are safe and that's what will matter the most for Sean Dyche’s team. Form has picked up slightly and the club have won 2 of their last three games with victories coming against Fulham and Wolves. It was Burnley’s last game against Fulham which relegated the Cottagers on Monday night.

Burnley are in 14th place and probably the best the club can hope to finish this season is 13th. Recent home form has been a let down and they have no wins in their last five games here and have lost their last 2 home games against Newcastle and West Ham. Overall home form has seen 7 defeats and 18 points won from a possible 51.

Leeds have slim chances of a European finish but if they win this game that could be revived. The club have shown inconsistency in recent weeks which has hampered their chances but they did win last weekend in an impressive performance as they beat Tottenham 3-1. Leeds are in 10th place and will be trying to pass Arsenal in the league and away from home the club have yet to draw any games and have 8 wins but 9 defeats.

Team News:

Burnley: Kevin Long is out with his Achilles as is Robert Brady. Goalkeeper Nick Pope is a doubt for this game.

Leeds: Helder Costa has been ruled out for the season after his back injury. Adam Forshaw is also a long term absentee. No new injuries.

Burnley vs Leeds Head to Head:

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Leeds won 1-0.

3 from the last 4 league meetings has seen both teams to score.

In the league we would have to go back to 2011 for the last time Leeds beat Burnley away from home.

Burnley vs Leeds Prediction:

Leeds have been wonderful or very ordinary and they will have the pressure to try and win this game more than what should be a relaxed Burnley side that can just try and enjoy their football.

Leeds at their best have been refreshing and if they can dictate the pace of this game, we tip them to win and the match to contain a few goals too. Patrick Bamford has scored a few this season even though he hasn’t always been consistent but we will back him to get on the score sheet. Burnley will have their chances and it would be worth looking back into history and seeing that this game has a good win rate for both teams to score so we will back that also.

This should be an enjoyable game to watch and we expect a match between two teams who will go for one another and create a spectacle that is end to end.

Burnley vs Leeds Betting Tips:
