Brighton vs Arsenal: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 6th April 2024
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

Brighton are amongst a plethora of clubs vying for a European finish and with 43 points and being in 9th place they have every chance. Consistency of course is key though and Roberto De Zerbi’s side have not been showing that of late. As an example Brighton have picked up just 5 points from their past 15 and that one win they have had in the past month came against Nottingham Forest. Last weekend perhaps was an expected loss away to Liverpool with that game ending at least in a respectable 2-1 defeat. In midweek the Seagulls drew 0-0 away to Brentford. For all their possible chances of finishing for Europe Brighton could also drop down quickly into the bottom half of the table. From their position in 9th to 13th there is only a four point gap.

Arsenal are still dreaming of a first league title in 20 years. They come into this game in 2nd place with 68 points and are 2 points behind Liverpool. Also of course Manchester City are just a point behind in 3rd place, this is the business end of the season can Arsenal handle the heat? Arsenal’s form is good with 4 wins from their past five and that other game was the 0-0 result away to Manchester City. In midweek Arsenal did the job that they had to do and beat Luton 2-0, perhaps fans expected more goals but it was a solid performance from the Gunners. Arsenal currently has the best away form in the league with 30 points won from 45 and with 34 goals scored no other club has converted more on the road.

Team News:

Brighton: Billy Gilmour won’t return for at least a month with a knee injury. James Milner is expected to miss out again due to a muscle injury. Kaoru Mitoma. Jack Hinshelwood and March Soloman are all out long term

Arsenal: Bukayo Saka is being tipped to be fine for this game despite a recent muscle injury. Jurrien Timber is out long term with his knee

Brighton vs Arsenal Head to Head:

Last season Arsenal ran out 4-2 winners.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Arsenal won 2-0.

It’s been 4 games and almost the same number of years since Brighon managed to beat Arsenal when at home.

There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Brighton vs Arsenal Prediction:

Arsenal has the better team but this remains another big test for the club. Quite rightly Mikel Arteta’s side could win all of their remaining home games but it will be how they pick up points on the road that could determine their title hopes. Brighton are not to be taken lightly but at the same time Arsenal have a good record coming here and the players have a fighting spirit much better than last season. This is a club clearly evolving, but will it be enough in the end? We will be backing Arsenal to win this game and while they are odds on we are happy to take the 1.62 on the team not only in 2nd place but the one who has the best away record also.

Brighton normally raise their game well against Arsenal and for that we expect to see quite an open game but with such little to lose compared to Arsenal we could see risks and gaps and we believe that this will play into the visitors hands, expect an end to end game and an exciting one.

Brighton vs Arsenal Betting Tips:

Arsenal to beat Brighton at 1.62

Anytime goalscorer: Gabriel Martinelli at 3.25
