Arsenal have eyes on a possible Europa League place and Fulham are trying to survive as these two London teams come together for just the 58th time in their history. The bad news for Fulham is that Arsenal have won 40 of them.
Under Mikel Arteta Arsenal have shown small signs of improvement, and have gone through very good periods, however poor periods also. This seems to be a great moment for the club as they come into this derby. In midweek Arsenal had to prove themselves in the Europa League after drawing 1-1 at home to Slavia Prague and they more than passed the audition in the 2nd leg as they thumped them 4-0 to win 5-1 on aggregate. They are in the semi-finals where they will play Villarreal.
In the league the Gunners have lost just once in their last four and last weekend they beat Sheffield United 3-0, but here’s the interesting development for the club over the past few weeks, they are edging nearer to Tottenham. With Tottenham dropping 2 points at Everton on Friday evening victory for Arsenal on Sunday would mean that the club are only 2 points behind their fierce rivals.
Fulham are in poor form and seem like a team mentally fatigued after they gave it a decent shot for survival. But it’s been defeat after defeat now and they have fallen six points from safety. The other problem is that teams around them have a game in hand and if the Cottagers fail to win this game, one could presume they will be going down. Last weekend Fulham lost their 16th game of the season losing 1-0 at home to Wolves.
On the road Scott Parker’s team’s most common result is the draw which has occurred 7 times. They have won just 3 times, which includes two times on Merseyside and in fact their last away win was at Liverpool 5 weeks ago.

Arsenal: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has recovered from illness and is being tipped to play in this game, although there has been no confirmation. David Luiz is out with his knee injury and could miss the remainder of the month. Martin Odegaard will be assessed after missing the last few games with an ankle injury. Kieran Tierney could be out for a further 4 weeks with a knee injury.
Fulham: Terence Kongolo has been ruled out for the rest of the season, for unknown reasons. Marek Rodak is a long term injury with his hand and Tom Cairney is out and also a long term injury with his knee.

Arsenal are a very good price to win this game around 1.72 when maybe we could have expected 1.50. They will play with a strong team, have good confidence coming into this game and usually beat Fulham. True the Cottagers may have more to play for but we have seen in recent weeks how tired they have looked.
This should be an incredibly difficult game for the away side and we can only really see a home victory and with goals. Arsenal will have a lot of motivation to win the game and could still finish in a decent position and try and pass Tottenham which would be seen as ironic given how they were supposed to be the team out of the two to be making strides this season under Jose Mourinho. Being at home only adds to our confidence that the Gunners will win this game.
