Match Preview:
Brentford are in 16th place but are safe and that will be a huge relief for the club, it means they can come into this game and enjoy it. However minds cannot be switched off and no one wants to be beat heavy especially at home. The Bees lost their last game which was against Everton and realistically the club can only finish above the Merseysiders for a possible best placed finish of 15th place. It hasn’t always been an easy campaign for the club who really missed their forward Ivan Toney for the first part of it through his suspension. Take out the Everton loss and Thomas Frank’s side have gone unbeaten for their past four games and earned 8 points from those. At home it’s been 10 weeks since the Bees lost here and their latest home match ended in a solid 2-0 win over bottom club Sheffield United. To note, given that they are 9 points in front of Nottingham Forest, Brentford will know that they also won’t finish lower than 16th this season.
Fulham are in 13th place with 43 points and are resigned now to finish in the bottom half of the table. Recent form hasn’t helped with just one win in their past five games and their latest game ended in a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace. The Cottagers last away game was an impressive 2-0 win at West Ham but on the road is where Marco Silva’s side have come unstuck and their majority result is the loss with 9 so far from 17 games played. The club has only managed to win 3 times away from home so far.

Brentford’s form over the past few months has been one to worry the fans that they may have been in a relegation battle this season but they have managed to get the right results just at the right time. Still form has been poor enough to raise question marks over manager Thomas Frank’s future and the club are due some better times. The Bees rely a lot on Ivan Toney for goals and he will be looking to finish the season as strong as possible and we are going to back the home side to get a solid win over a good but dejected and tired Fulham side. We also know that the Cottagers have really struggled on the road and their form from home to away is like night and day. Brentford also has a very good recent record over Fulham and we can’t ignore the fact that they have been able to convert six goals past them in the last two meetings.
