Arsenal vs Bournemouth: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Match Preview:

Arsenal come into this weekend one point ahead of 2nd placed Manchester City but having played a game more and this is another must win game for the Gunners if they want to have any chance of winning their first league title for 20 years.

Arsenal have looked the part as title winners for some time, they have scored the most goals in the league so far with 85 and have won their last 3 games in a row with victories over Wolves, Chelsea and Tottenham. The last two feel like an underlining of how the side have progressed under manager Mikel Arteta having beaten Chelsea 5-0 and then their bitter rivals Tottenham 3-2. Arsenal have one of the best home records in the league having won 41 points from a possible 51 and have lost just twice here and won 13 from 17 games.

Bournemouth come into this game in 10th place with 48 points and even though they are just 5 points from a possible European finish with so many teams in that chase the chance for the club to reach qualification seems incredibly distant and could well be confirmed this weekend. The good news for the Cherries is that they have every chance to finish in the top half of the table and that is in their hands and they have won their last two games in a row. Those victories have come against Wolves and Brighton. Bournemouth’s overall away form has been decent but they have lost 8 times but won 2 of their last four games on the road with wins over Wolves and Burnley. Perhaps there is a warning though given that recently they were defeated away from home by Luton and Arsenal will absolutely start this game as red hot odds on favourites.

Team News:

Arsenal: Jurrien Timber who has missed 8 months of the season is nearing a return and recovered from a knee injury but has a lack of match fitness. He could be assessed for this game and is the only concern for the club.

Bournemouth: Antoine Semenyo is 50/50 to return from a knee injury. Milos Kerkez is suspended and won’t return until the final weekend of the season. Marcos Tavernier is about a week away from a return and remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. There are long term injuries for Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra, Chris Mepham, Romain Favre and Ryan Fredericks.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth Head to Head:

The teams have only played each other 15 times and Arsenal have 12 wins, there have been two draws with one win for Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have never beaten Arsenal away from home.

Arsenal have scored 10 goals past Bournemouth in their last 3 meetings.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Arsenal won 4-0.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth Prediction:

Arsenal are around 1.20 to win and not many will like that price although it is there for a reason and we fully expect the Gunners to get the win. A market worth backing for better value is the ht/ft market and we expect Arsenal to come out and go for the victory and have plenty of chances so this market could be worth looking into, of course it is still odds on though. We have been encouraged to see Bukayo Saka get back on the score sheet and that would have done his confidence the world of good to score in the recent derby against Tottenham.

Bournemouth won’t see the ball much and we expect them to be overpowered, but recent form has been better but going away to Arsenal is an obvious step up and the objective for the club could well be to keep the score respectable but we don’t give them a chance in this battle.

Arsenal vs Bournemouth Betting Tips:

Half Time/Full Time: Arsenal/Arsenal at 1.60

Anytime goalscorer: Bukayo Saka at 2.10

Anytime goalscorer: Gabriel Martinelli at 2.50

Arsenal to score 3+ goals at 1.66
